The concept for the studio is to have a configuration for myself that would usually require several people to operate. This would include the musicians, engineer, assistant and producer, working in various spaces such as the tracking, mixing, and writing rooms plus a lounge and listening area.
However, this new approach will allow me to be able to perform all of those functions completely by myself, wearing any of those hats effortlessly whenever I have the creative urge. See below for a more detailed description.

The studio contains eight areas or “stations” as I’m calling them:
1. Main Studio Desk station (recording, mixing, mastering)
2. Piano/Synth station (tracking, writing)
3. Hammond/Modular Synth station (writing, tracking)
4. Laptop/Wave station (writing, tracking)
5. Drum station (tracking)
6. Tape Deck station (audio restoration)
7. Vocal station (tracking)
8. Listening station (the lounge)
Everything is completely interconnected – I’m able to do anything, anytime, at any station quickly and effortlessly. Building and configuring all of this has taken quite a while, due to the new studio being very complex with its wiring, software integration, and sheer number of systems involved.
However, musical ideas are already beginning to form as I’m completing the various stations. I’m beginning to hear a faint knock at the door and I can feel that it’s becoming louder. Soon I’ll be ready to open that door and invite Music in.
